MemoMapper saves the date and place including altitude of a photo, note or audio recording created within the app, and shows you the route to find back to that spot (with car, bike, by walking).

Get the iOS-app for free, without any ads, registraton or subscription fees, here: https://apps.apple.com/at/app/memomapper/id1555358812#?platform=iphone

If you upload an Image from the photo library, MemoMapper will show the date and location of the uploaded picture.

MemoMapper needs access to your location, camera, microphone and photo library if you want to use all features. The data will only be saved on your iPhone or on your personal iCloud account if you use iCloud and have this option activated (check “Settings – iCloud” on your iPhone). If you activate iCloud for MemoMapper, then the saved memories will be synched to other iPhones/iPads within your account.

If you delete the app, the photos you’ve taken with MemoMapper will remain in your photo library, but all other data (notes, locations, audio) will be deleted.

List of saved memories

This is the starting point of the app – Here you see a list with the titles, locations and dates of the moments you have saved.

If you click on one of the items in the list you are brought back to that memory – find back to the location, see the picture you took there, listen to a sound you recorded or read a note you took at that place and time.

Clicking on “+ add a new memory”

Continue reading below the picture if you want further info on the features.

Adding memories

After clicking’ the “+ add new memory” you’ll segue to screen shown below.

Your actual position will be shown on the map and saved together with the date automatically. It’s now up to you if you want to add further information to your memory:
You could just press “save” to quick-save your position to the “memories list” (and add additional information afterwards). Further you could for example write a note, record a sound and/or add a photo to your memory note.

Click on the the lower textfield “Enter a title” to add a short title to your memory. In the small textfield above, you can optionally add a more detailed description to your memory.

If you click on “snap” – you’ll take a snapshot in an instant, even without a preview.

Taking Photos with a Preview of the Image

If you want to give yourself some more time taking a new photo, click on the camera icon placed in the bar below:

You’ll now be presented a classic “view finder” . If you click again on the camera icon in the tab bar or click on the camera icon just below the image you’ll capture a photo.

If you the click “Keep Photo” the image will be added to your memory within the app.

As of now  – the camera settings inside the MemoryMapper Camera app are very limited. Sometimes it’s better to shoot an image with the the preferred camera app with all the settings available, and upload the image afterwards to MemoMapper.

Uploading an Image from the Photo Library

If you click on the “Upload”-icon at the lower navigation-bar, you’ll be presented with the image library of your phone. Search for a photo or just select and click on one image of interest to upload the image to MemoMapper.

After uploading an Image from the Photolibrary,
MemoMapper will show the location and date of the uploaded Photo.
You can still edit the location manually.

Get back there

If you click on an item in the list of memories – you’ll be brought right back to that moment – a note, picture or audio you took at that moment will appear on the screen.

If you click on the red annotation on the map, you’ll get the route and navigation to that location.
If you click on the Photo you can enlarge it:

If you click on the globe icon under the list of saved memories you’ll be presented with an overview of all place you have saved within MemoMapper. If those places are spread geographically a  globe with pins on all the locations that you have saved will appear:

if you click on the big arrow at the bottom you are taken on a flyover to your current location.

If you click on one of the pins, you will switch back to the “memory card” screen associated with that position, and the image, date and notes that you saved right there will be shown.

Edit Memories

If you in retrospect wish to change or add information – here’s the place.
At first – click on the pencil symbol in the upper right corner.

Upload a new picture from the photo library, edit the notes, add a voice note or edit the location by clicking and zooming on the map.

If you press somewhat longer on a position of the map, a new red pin will occur – the new location will be saved when you’re finished and press the save button.

If you click on the magnifier you will segue to a fullscreen map, where you also have the option to search for a location or press on a spot to save a precise position.
